Years after the Subspace Emissary collapse, a mysterious explosion forced Nintendo Universes to a planet called Li.
A mystical force is said to be the cause of bringing everyone into a trap of noxious gas known as Starvia.
It is up to the new Smash Brothers of Li to step up and change the world through their actions.
Will you make the right choice?

SSB: LIFE ITSELF 2011-2021
Adachi's sleep was surprisingly peaceful for once. The cop wasn't tossing and turning miserably and he wasn't sprawled out chaotically across his bed. He didn't even snore, it was perfectly tranquil...
When Adachi finally awoke, he found himself not in his room in the Life Sphere... But a familiar place. It took him a few moments to realize it, but he was sitting on the same couch that his old partner in the force, Ryotaro Dojima sat when he was invited over for dinner. He was placed right in front of the same table that he ate at alongside Nanako and Narukami... As Adachi swiveled his head back and forth, he would find more familiar scenery. The calendar that Narukami was always marking dates down on. The kitchen that was rarely used, the stairs leading up to the second floor of the house, and even the TV they'd all watch the few times he was having dinner here. It was all the same... but there was also something off. Everything was tinged a deep, velvety blue. It sent tingles down the man's spine, something was wrong... It was quiet...
(Take this image, but turn all of it to various shades of deep, velvety blue.)
"The hell is this...?" He questioned himself as his eyes finally led him from where he was sitting at the couch to the new figure that had seemingly appeared at the other end of the coffee table. It was a strange, stout looking man with a nose that looked like it could pop a balloon. His eyes were bloodshot and his back was hunched slightly forward. Giving him a creepy and decrepit look.
"Greetings, my name, is Igor..." He spoke, his voice having a disturbingly higher pitch in comparison to how he looked and it held a strange, gentle grace to it.
"And welcome, to the the Velvet Room.
This is a place that exists between dreams and reality, mind and matter.
It is a place that only those who are bound by a contract may enter.
You, are already aware of the contract that has brought you here, are you not?"
The strange man seemed to chuckle as Adachi gave him a puzzled look. Only for the ex-cop to suddenly remember the reason why he had his powers.
"You're talking about what Izanami did to me..." He seemed to almost spit those words as he said them. As much as he loved his powers, knowing that they were all apart of that damned god's plan angered him greatly.
"Indeed, it is that same contract that now allows you to enter this place" Igor began speaking again, Adachi giving the man his full attention as he slumped back on the couch.
"As for why you are here, I will allow my assistant Margaret to explain." With that, Igor gestured towards the kitchen, where Adachi would see a lone woman with light blond hair and piercing, yellow eyes staring at him. A large, velvet book in her left hand.
"Tohru Adachi. Back in your own world you carried out heinous acts of your own accord. Acts that nearly brought the world irreversible ruin."
Adachi found himself sighing a bit. So he was here to be lectured by a bunch of supernatural beings? However before he could voice his annoyance, Margaret continued.
"However, something in you has begun to change. And this change, could be your path to true redemption."
Margaret turned one of the chairs at the kitchen table around to face Adachi as she sat. The woman opening the book in her hands and out of it flew a single small card.
"As the bearer of the Jester Arcana, you too have the potential to unlock the power of the Wild Card. Just as Yu Narukami, the bearer of the Fool, did before you." Adachi's eyes seemed to widen as she said that. A light, warm pulse suddenly beating in his chest. The ex-cop reaching up to where his heart was as he felt it suddenly fade again.
"You feel it waking up within you, do you not? That is the Wild Card awakening inside of you. Follow it's pulse and you may finally be able to redeem yourself in this new world." With that she fell silent as she gestured towards Igor, the card of the Jester fading away as Adachi turned his attention back to the small man.
"It is our duty to assist you in this task. By taking the power of the bonds that you form and forging it into something tangible.
The next time we meet, it will be after the Wild Card has fully awakened. Until then... Farewell."
Before Adachi could even respond to that, his vision grew blurry and found himself drifting back into sleep...
